Hi everyone!
Just posting this up to see if I got it right, and 'cause I'm cheap, and don't want to buy stamps:).

So!

I shot this at 15 yards:

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/7fdb0a42-dc57-4029-914c-58d5bb55ebab_zpsb96c00dd.jpg

With this:

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/541744ff-6aa7-45be-9f93-cbc270e54261_zps458834fc.jpg

...Which leads to a question? Do I take my best target? My first target of the day was this one:

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/195e3e92-c84b-4b32-a223-fa6aeec1b128_zpsb167e315.jpg

and then I remembered more pressure with offhand thumb, which was the problem I've been having...and then I felt a RAINDROP! I can't get wet, I'll melt! Sure enough, the grey wall was coming down the valley (That's snow on top of the hill, for those of you that haven't seen it before:) It's probably three whole centimeters deep!):

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/51c88a19-3bb6-40a8-a92d-4f601d8f9e73_zpsd77f34b3.jpg

Safely under cover at the rifle range (whew!) I shot this at 25 yards:

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/1a7df345-1f4f-478a-a574-a1bcdaed679c_zps7e393f69.jpg

Very quickly:) with this...which is a semi, heavy target, scoped rimfire, correct?:

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/53458c0b-c508-40bc-b78f-237bfb3ea2c0_zps76b169fa.jpg

Then I shot this in what was now a bit of a heavy downpour at 50 yards:

http://i1059.photobucket.com/albums/t424/smellype/GOC%20album%201/Postal%20Match/PostalMatch1010_zpscd174a1c.jpg

With this, milsurp iron sights:):

I tried to shoot at 100 with a scoped rifle, but the targets kept melting:(...good targets at 100 though, I like those....pic of the rifle, just 'cause:

So there's my day at the range, February 23, 2013! I doubt I'll get out tomorrow for more, honeydo list, but feel free to comment, post yer targets, blast me for shoving a ton of pics in my post...

Some questions and comments for you, Strewth:

a) You can shoot each event up to 4 times and submit your best target of the four. I should have mentioned that in the rules. Oh, wait, I did.

b) Too bad about the rain, at least when it snows here, it doesn't affect anything except your walk out to the target

c) How did you keep the powder burns off your pistol target?

d) Nice .22 scoped rifle group.

e) I like your milsurp target group. That is with the Lee Enfield that you just refurbished, correct? Nice.

f) That is a nice looking range you shoot at. It's in Chilliwack? Will have to come and shoot with you sometime.

Thanks for posting (great pics!) It is a good motivator for the rest of us. Get your targets in, folks!!

Okee Dokee, I'm not the best at reviews, thought I'd just tag on to someone elses, but yep, served me well, I like 'em!

Some questions and comments for you, Strewth:

a) You can shoot each event up to 4 times and submit your best target of the four. I should have mentioned that in the rules. Oh, wait, I did. OOOOOhhh I'm supposed to read ALL the rules? Picky picky. :red:

b) Too bad about the rain, at least when it snows here, it doesn't affect anything except your walk out to the target Yep:( I got a couple rounds off with my Tikka, but the target just gently tore off the frame.

c) How did you keep the powder burns off your pistol target? Magic Eraser! Actually what I did was slowfire 150 rounds at targets between the two pictures I posted....which is a little more than four targets...now that I've read the "complete" rules, four would be perfect for me on pistol...would show an average group...I always need a couple mags to settle in, practice practice...

d) Nice .22 scoped rifle group. Don't ever tell my wife how much you can blow on a 10/22;)

e) I like your milsurp target group. That is with the Lee Enfield that you just refurbished, correct? Nice. Thanks! Three sighters, aim at the bottom of the target at 50 and that's what you get with Fed Blue Box...fun rifle:)

f) That is a nice looking range you shoot at. It's in Chilliwack? Will have to come and shoot with you sometime. Anytime! Almost always lots of room, always room at the pistol pits, where .223 is OK...fun for transitions...really pushing me to get an AR.

Thanks for posting (great pics!) It is a good motivator for the rest of us. Get your targets in, folks!!

You're welcome!

So just to clarify, I'm withdrawing that nice group from pistol... 'cause I shot waaaayyy more than four targets to get that group:), but I'l submit the other one with the three trigger jerk low lefts.

And I've been informed that after all my e-mails, PMs and bugging of Canuck (who's been very accommodating and patient, and great for setting this up in the first place)....I still managed to shoot the wrong Rimfire target...very impressive, if I do say so myself,...sigh.
I WILL get this figured out...maybe in time for Christmas...although I'm not sure Canuck would take that bet at this point....

well, shit, I gotta get in on this! I don't have any pistol targets saved up, same for my Milsurp. and no scope on my .223(AR hehehe), but I do have a nice one from iron sighted .22 at 50m. Oh, and I have an open sight AR target too, also 50m. I didn't know about the contest so I wasn't shooting for the absolute best I could, but they are decent.

Hi John! The rules are posted up here, along with the official targets:

Don't shoot the wrong .22 target like I did...
Hey Canuck, when's the next match deadline? Maybe I'll shoot the right targets this time for a change:).

Here is the original thread: http://www.gunownersofcanada.ca/showthread.php?6429-The-Official-GOC-Postal-Match-Thread

The deadline for the next postal match is April 28th. Entries can be scanned and sent in (my email address is in that thread somewhere) or else mailed with a postal date of April 28th or sooner.
Now, Strewth, as for your entries. After seeing your original pistol/rifle scores and then seeing your son's recent targets I am beginning to think maybe you have been putting your John Henry on his targets. He can coach you but, seriously Strewth, you have to do the shooting part- K?

April 28th, I'm sure I can get him...I mean, no problem, good to hear! I'll get out to the range for sure by then.

.....So, if he holds it, and I pull the trigger, it counts, right?
