Ok so it seems a few people like TV-Press Pass are wondering how to properly use a PSO-1 scope. It's actually a really ingenious scope.

First we will start with the range finding system. That is the little mountain looking part on the bottom left. The 1.7 is a reference to 1.7m (5.55 feet). Your average height of a human back when the scope was designed in 1964 :p

So you take your target (human) and place them between the lines of that scale. So say your target fit perfect between the bottom line and the "6". Take the "6" and multiple it by 100 to get the range to the target in meters. Thus 600 meters (656 yards). Nice and simple. 1m = 1.09 yards.

Now onto the Chevrons ("^"). These are made for bullet drop of course. Zeroed for 91.44m (100 yards) the next Chevron down is 1.25" of bullet drop, below that is 2.5", and finally 4" for example. Changes slight if zeroed for 100m :p

Finally the dashes of lines ("|") of course are for windage. Each dash is 4" per 100m. Can also be used to range find a target as well. Say you know a crate is 1m long. Then at 100m that 1m long crate should fit between two of the lines.

I learned this from playing Operation Flashpoint :)
