Anyone out there worked with Hercules, Reloder 12. My son picked some up at Cabelas but the only loading data I can find is for Reloder 10X or Reloder 15. He shoots .303 Brit in an Enfield or a Ross.

Cheers!

I think that Alliant bought out Hercules years ago...

Anyway, I looked through a bunch of my manuals... Even checked AmmoGuide... I flat out couldn't find anything on it.

I guess you might try checking a table of relative burn rates (it should rank the powder against others in rate of burn)? Find something similar, start reloading really REALLY low..

Go to the Alliant web site should be some info available. I use that site as well as Hodgon's for all my reloading info now instead of buying more new loadinf manuals. Haven't tried reloder12 only 10x.

If he bought Alliant Re 12, then it's old stock. It was discontinued eight or nine years ago. Perhaps a little more.

Re 12 works well in the 303 British with lighter bullets - 125 and 150 gr. These loads are from my book, Shooting & Reloading the 303 British/Epps.

125 gr. Sierra Spitzer
Win Case
CCI 200 primers
OAL 2.925 inches
44.0 to 48.0 grains of Alliant Re 12.

150 gr. Hornady/Sierra/Speer Spitzers
Win Case
CCI 200 primers
OAL 3.000 inches
41.0 to 45.0 grains of Alliant Re 12

Normal disclaimers apply. Work up your loads from the minimum. Accuracy and performance from my rifles (a No 4 and a P14) were best 0.5 to 1.0 grains less than max. For the 125s, that was around 2700 fps. The 150s produced 2550 fps.
