Just got in from hunting, shot a nice 8 pt. buck at approx. 125 yds. using a trad. muzzleloader in .54 cal. and 475 grain soft cast bullets, the deer got sick and died in that very spot. This is prolly the 5th year in a row that I have taken a buck with either a .45, .50, or .54 cal. rifle with heavy, soft cast bullets, and all animals were DRT, none suffered, I'm kinda proud of that. This is the Muzzleloader season here for deer or I'd prolly have taken out my 50/90 Sharps, anyhow the load was 80 grains of Swiss Black Powder, I'll find out more about bullet performance tomorrow when I skin him.
I still don't know how to post pics. so prolly won't even try, frustrating for me. Now I have to get ready for Elk season as I drew a tag here in my home area, my cousin from Europe will hunt with me, maybe he can post pics.

Very nice, congratulations! A muzzleloader sure sounds like something I should try hunting with one year.

Hear it means that you can hunt for whitetails for 1 month before the rifle season, when the weather is nicer.....and now I will try to fill my Elk tag, but can use a rifle.

Yea, if I had 100 yards of range I could have bagged a dozen so far... Still haven't stuck a broadhead in one yet this season...
