My RPAL timeline

I thought I would share my recent RPAL timeline for other fellow members still waiting for theirs. I'm in BC, by the way. Almost time to shop. :cool1:

January 18, 2015	-	PAL and RPAL courses completed
January 19, 2015	-	Application sent with priority and signature requirement
January 23, 2015	0	Application received in Miramachi
February 12, 2015	20	Credit Card charged
February 13, 2015	21	Application showed up online with "in progress" status
March 2, 2015	38	Enquired but NOT ready for reference call
March 10, 2015 (at 11am)	46	Enquired and ready for one reference call
March 10, 2015 (at 12pm)	46	Reference called in and had standard, two minute interview
March 10, 2015 (at 1pm)	46	Online status changed to license issued

Feh. Wish I lived in BC.
Jan 11: wrote CRFSC (already had CFSC)
Jan 12: Instructor mailed test results to Ontario CFO. Note that test location to Ontario CFO office is, maybe, a 45 minute drive.
Feb 2: Date on the stamp on the papers.
Feb 25: Date on the post mark on the returned papers.
Mar 2: Received back to me.
Mar 10: Mailed off my application.

Here is NS, I had my PAL approved on the 28th day then shipped on the 29th.

Exact same thing for my RPAL, interviews completed on 28th day, card shipped on the 29th.

Update:
Mar 16th: This is when my application is listed on the website as 'received.'
Sometime at the beginning of april: This is when it actually appeared on the website.
Apr 22nd: Called in, spoke to a nice lady who said that in the last few days, it had gone into 'ready for references.' She said they're a month backlogged on actually making the calls, so have them call in. This is day 37 after the RCMP received it.

Here in Ontario my reference called on the 19th of April. The application status hasn't changed. I called in and the rcmp said that the application has been sent to the Ontario Chief Firearms office. Does anyone know how long it'll take from here on?

Checked the website at 4. Still said 'completed initial processing, now in progress.' Called in, asked about status. Went through all my info. The very nice lady said 'I'm going to put you on hold for a moment.' Came back a minute later, said 'It's now valid, should arrive in the mail in two to three weeks.' Thanked her, wished her a nice day, hung up, rechecked the website, and lo, it says the same thing!

Wonder if I should have asked her for the PAL number, so I could go ahead and order something, get my range application going, etc etc....

Well I just mailed my restricted paperwork today via registered mail, so I will keep you guys up to date with my timeline.

So...apparently at some point in the not too distant past I actually desired to own a firearm and seem to have taken a course enabling me to aquire said firearm. I say "apparently" because it has been so long that its faded from memory.

BUT, in the mail today was a crisp new card enabling me to purchase finally!!

So my timeline was:
March 20,21 PAL/RPAL course
Month later got my paperwork and submitted within the week
The system said application received on May 12 (I only got that info in June)
My application was processed around July 1, then they told me i could have references call in.
July 3 - reference called and had 10 minute interview.
30 minutes later - online system showed license issued.
License in mail July 13.

Fun=imminent. This was southern ontario for the record.

So here's what I'm thinking for first purchases:

Walther PPX 9mm (IWI 941 is second choice)
Maverick 88 Field
Remmington 783 (was hoping for .308 but might need to settle for smaller)
Norinco CQ-B AR
10-22 of some sort for my tacticool build

(these are all pretty cheap but my thought is try a low end version and get some exposure and upgrade as able as it seems like the resale on these is pretty decent)

So after the paperwork was received on June 2, a long wait and multiple phone calls later, my license has finally been issued.

June 2 received
July 16 is 45 days with no calls to references
RCMP website is having issues
Finally talk to a person on July 22
My reference guy called them on July 23
License issued July 23
52 days total... Now I have to wait for Canada post.

Mine took 100 days in Alberta
Now I get to wait for the mail man

I'm over 150 days waiting in Alberta now.
