GOC Member Rules & Policy
1. No illegal content.
2. Must be 18 years of age or older.
3. Gun Owners of Canada.ca maintains a professional pro-gun website and forum, as such foul language is not appropriate or necessary. No profanity in your user name, profile picture, title or otherwise. Foul and offensive language is not allowed anywhere on the board, members must censor themselves. Please attach a NSFW (Not safe for work) warning for links or videos where necessary.
4. No rude or abusive language allowed, including flame wars. We do not allow Gun Owners of Canada.ca to be used to deliberately trash, denigrate, or malign another forum, site or company. DO NOT drag your board wars over to this site or attempt to use this site as a staging point to start trouble on other sites.
5. Gun Owners of Canada.ca is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. Posts with sexually suggestive or explicit content are not allowed. That includes links to sites with such content. If you want to look at, or post, pictures of scantily clad women or men, please do so elsewhere. This is not the place for it.
6. Do not post or link to content containing graphic depictions of serious injury or death to people or animals. Any User Submission showing or describing someone or an animal being physically hurt, attacked, or humiliated will not be tolerated on Gun Owners of Canada.ca. Members who hunt animals humanely for sport and/or meat are the only exception to this rule.
7. We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But, we don't permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity). Posts with racist or extremist comments or content are not allowed. This includes links to sites with such content.
8. Posts concerning politics, civil liberties issues, Law Enforcement issues and/or religion should be confined to the forums we have dedicated to those topics. Please do not argue these topics elsewhere on the site.
9. Actions like predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people’s personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts, crimes, or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously at Gun Owners of Canada.ca. Anyone caught doing these activities may be permanently banned from Gun Owners of Canada.ca and may be reported to law enforcement.
10. Unsolicited posts by companies and/or individuals promoting themselves, a website, or a product are not allowed. Please follow this link Here for information on how to become a site sponsor. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, Hobbyists, at home gunsmiths, high volume personal traders, and the like, will not be expected to sign up for a GOC sponsorship program.
11. Do not re-start threads pertaining to subjects that have been previously closed.
12. Do not post the same or similar thread in multiple forums. Select the forum best suited for the topic and post it there. Multiple postings with the same subject matter by the same member will not be allowed, and Gun Owners of Canada.ca reserves the right to delete or move such postings at its sole discretion.
13. We do not allow anyone to be registered under more than ONE member name. There is absolutely NO reason to have an extra account unless it is used for trolling and/or shilling purposes. If you are found to have more than one account, you will risk losing ALL of your accounts. If your household has more then one GOC user, please notify a site administrator.
14. Avatars of your own choosing are allowed for “all Members”, as long as they are tasteful in content, and conform to the rules above. Avatars should be used to express your likes, loves, and individuality, but there are limits. The Administrators and Moderators DO NOT want members using the avatar system to make bigoted personal, religious, or political statements. The avatar may not include scantily-clad, provocative pictures of women/men.
15. Signature lines fall under the same rules as your avatars. If your signature line doesn't meet the above rules, it is not allowed.
16. All the same rules listed above apply to the posting of pictures and videos. This also includes using videos for self-promotion, whether you are promoting yourself, your products, or your videos themselves.
17. Obvious trolling or attempts to bait another member into an argument for your own entertainment will not be tolerated here; you will swiftly be shown the door.
18. For the new comers that post obvious or previously covered questions in the forum. GOC staff will not tolerate any bullying or "elitist" comments made towards said members. Everyone will go through a learning curve here, do not post if you cannot offer any constructive advice.
19. Nothing is ever black and white, there will always be shades of grey that are open to interpretation. We ask that you please use common sense and your best judgement. Any "grey area" rule violation will be voted on by GOC moderators and admin.

2. Unethical and confrontational marketing tactics that disrupt the running of the board will result in suspension.
3. Politics, Off Topics and General Discussion Forums are off limits to any commercial activities.
4. Dealers found having accounts for “shilling” as it’s commonly referred to, by an employee or otherwise will have their account(s) suspended until a formal investigation has taken place. If found that any rules or GOC policies have been violated, the company in question and any other person(s) invloved will be permanently banned from GOC.
5. Any dealer or organization on GOC found conducting themselves unethically, illegally, or violating any rules of our site will be removed permanently to protect our members and the Integrity of GOC.
6. Each business owner has the option of utilizing two accounts. The first account would be named after the company and generally would be used to post announcements, sales and promotions on behalf of said company. (Note: these dealer accounts should limit posting to just the Dealer Forums and Marketplace) The second account would be used as a personal handle dedicated to the rest of the forum. (Note: the personal account must fully disclose what company they own in either the custom user title or signature)
