Man I'm glad I bought a brick of .22 every week or two back in 2009-2011.

I think it was $15-20 per brick back then...

I bought two buckets a few years ago. I paid $72 + taxes each. I haven't bought .22 ammo for 2 or 3 years now...can't seem to find it at prices I'm willing to pay. But, wow...$179/bucket...that's wild.

One of my closest friends has over 15K in 22LR ammo. Some of it is over 40 years old. I don't shoot that caliber, or I would have bought some from him years ago.

And he doesn't even shoot very much. Only around 50 rounds a year.

As I have written previously the vast majority of my .22 was purchased at $200.00/5,000 ALL IN. A little at $205/$210.00/5,000.

The most recent deal was for 5,000 Winchester small rifle primers from a friend for $125.00.

That sounds like me 30 years in the future...

But I plan to keep having kids so I have a legion of grand kids to take to the range.

Funny thing is, being a brass vulture this year, I've picked up about 3 bricks of .22, probably 3/4 of which are "unload and show clear" rounds from steel challenge matches or youth shooting programs.

I was planning to carry my Ruger charger on the range to just plink with it when I pick it up.
