What a pity, that we are still pushing that useless, politically correct (from an owners point of view) crap that firearms aren't weapons. They are, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with Canadians having weapons.

Any law relating to the use, carriage, or possession of firearms that requires one to obtain permission from a government agent who is authorized to use subjective criteria, such as "need," in determining whether to deny the permission is ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE.

Rights are not conferred by government. Their existence is either recognized or denied by government. That recognition or denial is of importance because it may adversely affect your life. It is also a gauge of the quality of that government.
