Considering the low crime rate on PEI, I don't know if there's a correlation between poverty and crime.

NH had a lower homicide rate than PEI did in 2014. Impressive.

The US as a whole is starting to out pace us in cutting homicides in total. I mentioned this before, rangebob had the charts when I did iirc, but they're on pace to end up having a lower homicide rate than us in a decade or two. I may be mixing up homicides and violent crime in total.
