    No SKS Thread Yet?

    Gotta change that!

Here is my ChiCom with a Weaver Convert-A-Mount and a cheap Leapers fixed 4x32 compact scope.

And here it is with a folding stock from an CZ858. Nice truck gun now. It's the same break in both photos but it now has been chopped into an AK47 style. Helps reduce muzzle rise and is oh so much quieter.

And yes I still have the original stock

Did you know that if you look at the bottom of the rounds you load into your SKS it says 7.62, but that is not the caliber. That is the percentage of accuracy 7.62% chance to hit where you're aiming.

Do you know where the safest place to be if someone is shooting an SKS at you? Dead center in front of the sights!

Is seriousness they are nice little guns and almost everyone owns one.

CharlesT,what does the scope mount bolt to?
Do you still have clearance to use stripper clips?

After owning it for a couple of years I finally shot my 54 Tula last week. Then built a butt stock cheek riser/ammo pouch that holds 2 full stripper clips. It groups good with the factory sights but I don't look as good as I used to. I was thinking about a scope, side eject mod already done, but still want to be able to use the stripper clips.

Here's a link to a description of how it's done.

It seems we can hot link? I can't find anything in the policy that says no but if I'm wrong I'm sorry.

I mounted mine as low as possible to the dust cover. I think it took a couple of hours to do.

Yes I can still use stripper clips which is why I bought the Leapers. It was the shortest scope I could find.

It holds zero. Detaching it is a matter of undoing two thumb screws. So field stripping takes an extra minute.

I've installed the Choate on another SKS and although both mounts are rock solid and I prefer the look of the Weaver.

    Of course that's just me

I have a side mount sitting here that was destined to become a QD install.
The Weaver setup takes the plotting and scheming out of the equation!
