Can anyone recommend a sub $600 spotting scope?

I'd like to get one for looking at holes in paper at 300 yds or less as its main duty, don't need a $2000 scope to sit around. Any recommendations?

Well...I'd love to recommend the Bushnell Spacemaster like the one in the pic, but it doesn't look they're making them anymore. It's the one I've got. The big advantage is the angle of the eye piece can be adjusted from being inline with the body of the scope, up to 90 degrees to it (and anywhere in between). It's proven to be very very handy. I wonder why they don't show it on their site anymore. It was the only one I ever saw that had this feature. I can't imagine they stopped making it....unless somebody screamed trademark infringement.

See hits on targets out to a mile in the right conditions. Get a solid tripod at the same time. shipping with us postal only and it still gets to you pretty cheap.

The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.

Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because thatís the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"

Mine is an older Bushnell and hardly acceptable at 100 yards on targets, only good for watching large game at longer distance. Before buying another i want to check it out well and preferablely outside.

Just ordered this thing, seems to have good reviews. $270 shipped? Can't go wrong!

Bass pro in Calgary had one on sale a few weeks back for 100.00. They claimed you can see clearly out to 1.5 miles

That is remarkable. For less than $400 you can see bullet holes at 300 yds plus.
