    Whole chickens on sale

This week at Safeway in the Edmonton area whole chickens are on for $1.99 per pound, average $5.98 to $7.25 per bird. Grabbed a few more for the freezer, to be supplemented with grouse now that it's that time of year.

Yep, and good looking birds too. They didn't look like they had been plucked by a weed-whacker.

Well, lets see how they do in the smoker. One is salt and pepper. The other has Alberta Poker Rally seasoning on it.

Butterfly the chickens its way easier. No messing with pans or anything. Just cut the spine out, crack the breast bone to lay them flat on the grill.

So where is the after pic Den?
The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money.
There is no place in an anti's head where reason can enter. from a Napoleon saying with a tweak.
Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"

No after pics bud. I screwed up on the timing. I was expecting them to take 1 to 1 1/2 hrs to cook. It only took about 50 minutes start to finish and I had to rush to get the hand cut french fries done. I will say this. Dinner was AWESOME. Mrs BSD is going to get a couple more chickens tomorrow.
