Aww man. RIP Mr. Mowat. My mom started me on his work with People of the Deer, and I still re-read Owls in the Family.

Never Cry Wolf, fictional or not, is one of my favourites.
the wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept

I grew up in Saskatoon and knew all the stores and offices he spoke about in Owls in the Family. I even raised a Great Horned owl like he did. Very sad to see him pass but he had a great 92 years. I read every one of his books and read them to my kids as well.

One of the few authors I have ever read cover to cover more than once. RIP Mr. Mowat.
    Another true Canadian gone.

I loved them all. He was a great man and a great writer and it's a great loss. On the other hand, from time to time he could be a bit of a dingbat as well

RIP - you were a great canadian

And No Birds Sang is one of the best "war" books I've ever read.
As for "dingbat" yes it's true but aren't we all.
Supposedly he was the guy that said "i'm a non-fiction writer I won't let the facts get in the way of the truth" paraphrasing from the radio today.
