Nothing compliments a good chili or stew like fresh baked biscuits. These biscuits are sweet and savory. I'd like to take credit, but I stole this recipe from somewhere.
Dry Ingredients:
2 C Flour
1/2 C Parmesan
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp dried rosemary
Pinch of Salt
1/4 C Cold Butter (finely sliced/chopped)
Wet Ingredients:
3/4 C Buttermilk (or add 1 tsp lemon juice to 3/4 cup milk, and let rest 5 minutes)
3 Tbsp Honey
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400F.
Blend the dry ingredients. The butter won't work in 100%, but thats okay. Just chop it up nice and find before you mix it in. I dice a frozen chunk of butter myself. Mix all the wet ingredients together and then add to the dry ingredients. Try to combine with as few strokes as possible. Roll on a floured surface to about 3/4 in thickness, and cut into biscuits. I use a kitchen glass to cut my biscuits.
Cook at 400 F for 15 minutes on a lightly floured cookie sheet. Makes about 9 or 10 biscuits.
