The new Common Sense Firearms Licensing Act is poised to:

End the Authorization to Transport system for target shooting
Restrict the ability of Chief Firearms Officers (CFO's) to make arbitrary decisions
Create a grace period at the end of a five-year license expiry to prevent criminal charges for expired paperwork
Create mandatory firearms safety courses for first time gun owners
Strengthen firearms prohibitions for those who are convicted of domestic violence offences

I agree that right now this is just lobbying in order to get votes from gun owners, but I can't help but hope that this may someday become new legislation. Very informative interview though, thank you for posting.

RE, in BC, the CFOs are no longer issuing the LTATTs with provision to take the restricted firearms to a gunsmith. That has to be done on a visit by visit basis.

I assume you're referring to the CSSA.

Well, Ed works very closely with the CSSA and has helped launch a $270 million lawsuit over the reclassifications.

And the CSSA has been VERY CLEAR the proposals are not enough.

Try reading their entire press release.
