    Haywires riot gun build

    So recently I had a maverick 88 follow me home for an extremely low price. As per my usual, I immediately stripped it down and ceramic coated all the metal bits on it. Added a set of sling mounts and called it done.
    Then looking at it, I realized the all black look was bugging me. So off came the furniture and out came the krylon, followed by the addition of a truglow front site from the junk box resulting in this;

    Pretty sweet huh? Haywire likes. But what else does Haywire like? WW2 era firearms, or WW2 tribute firearms. So now I have this nifty little shotty, it needs a wood stock set. Hmm turns out Mavericks dont have an action tube, trip to western gun parts will fix that. Once home that also got ceramic coated. It turned out Stevesummit happened to have a mossberg 500 set of wood furniture, but it had been polyed to weather proof. No problem, 1 refinish coming up.

    Before;

    And after stripping the old finish and stain, and restaining with minwax red chestnut;

    Next up will be truoil finish

    I also did some horse trading and came up with an ati heatshield (not the best I realize, but will do until I source a mossy factory one). Now need to source some wider sling swivels and a 1907 sling.

    I like the krylon treatment. Black and primer are two of my favourite colours. Looks great!

    Still need to source some parts, notably a factory 590a1 mag tube( for the bayo) and heatshield. The ati is allright but I dont care for the none optional rails. But here she is.

    Am back in camp so be a bit before the next update
