    (p)POL to RPAL

Background - grandfathered for just about everything except full-auto. 25 cal, short barrels, converted, etc

Licensed possession-only until yesterday when my PAL (4-5 month process) arrived in the mail.

    Possession-only for 12.x -- Acquisition for non-restricted and restricted.

Am I screwed by law because I was POL on the 12.x? Is there an appeal process?

Can changes brought in by Mr Blaney et al fix this?

    thoughts?

I'm a 12.5 POL to RPAL recently (2012) myself. If you are missing 12.x under the acquisition field I'd say it was a mistake on the part of the CFP. I'd call them up.

Called an finally got through to someone who looked it up - and said they didn't know why the prohibs didn't get moved over. Suggested it would have been my CFO who made any changes.

Just got off the phone with my CFO and they claim you cannot go from POL on prohib to PAL on prohib.

I've asked for the info they base that on...

I'd call Blaney's office on that. The Bill coming next month is supposed to deal with those.

Woot - CFO called back appologizing for the mistake. I guess moving from POL prohib to PAL prohib happens so infrequently here that they weren't aware it could be done.

New license printed and will be in today's mail.

Could be that. Could be they aren't happy with me and the whole PEI CFO newspaper article / Blaney thing.
