Two arrested for waving gun were actually shooting a movie

    May 09 2015
    Brampton, Ontario

Two men arrested in Brampton Saturday morning after waving what appeared to be a gun out of a car were actually shooting a movie scene, Peel police said.

Peel police received multiple calls around 8 a.m. Saturday about a car driving down a residential street in Brampton. Two men were in the car and one was leaning out of a window waving a gun.

When police arrived on scene, they found the two men sitting in the car. They were ordered out and arrested.

The men were shooting a scene for an independent film and the gun was a prop.

The men, who were released without being charged, told police they had sent a letter about the shoot to a Peel police community liaison officer. They didn’t receive a response and decided to do the shoot anyway.

The community liaison officer had been on vacation and did not see the letter.

You aren’t going to believe what happened when police arrested two masked gunmen in Brampton

    May 09 2015
    Brampton, Ontario

It was just like a scene from the movies when Peel Regional Police responded to a gun call in Brampton Saturday morning with heavily armed tactical officers who ordered two suspects out of a car at gunpoint.

Two men were arrested after witnesses saw them driving around wearing masks and waving a gun out of the passenger side window on Pentonville Road in the area of Countryside Drive and Heart Lake Road around 8:10 a.m. Saturday.

Police, however, let the men go after learning the stunt was in fact part of a movie shoot and there was no risk to the community.

“We responded in the exact way we would have for any other call,” said Peel police Const. Lilly Fitzpatrick

Reminds me of an incident a few years ago when reports of heavy , rapid gun fire was called in to the city police ; talk about a gong show with cops leaving their sectors against orders and converging on the city center where the gun fire was reported . Cops were going everywhere , sirens blaring , tires screeching , cops with guns everywhere.....turned out it was a guy out beating his rug against the side of a steel baby barn ; everyone had a good laugh at the cops expense......great entertainment that never cost anyone a dime......lol

Gun scare turns out to be school project

    May 8, 2015
    Fergus, Ontario

A gun scare that resulted in a lockdown at a Fergus school turned out to be part of a school project.

On May 8 at about 10:30am, Wellington County OPP received a complaint of students walking towards Maranatha Christian School in Fergus possibly carrying long guns.

Numerous OPP officers attended and the school lockdown procedures were initiated.

"Investigation revealed that the students were filming a school project and were using pellet guns as props with teacher’s awareness," police said in a press release.

"The guns were secured and the lockdown was lifted."

Talk about production value! Hope they were still filming their movie when the real cops came in and busted them, could re-write the script around that. lol
