Hollywood shipping containers are made of AR500. So are coffee tables, couches, car doors and drywall. :P
I don't have a firearms problem; they all work perfectly well.

Bullet proof ! Pfhttttttt. One of my customers used to store, buy, and sell them. When they first come into the yard, the guy doing the initial inspection always walked out with his clip board, and a caulking gun. He would jump in the back of the can...close the doors, and plug off any daylight shining through the roof that he found. Yea...that's the quality of the repairs on those sea containers all the preppers dream of burying and turning into a bug out shelter. I've got news for you...the corners of those things are really strong, straight up and down....but that's it. The rest of them are crap by the time the shipping companies cut them loose for any kind of affordable price.

I'm told they're actually a VERY effective form of protection against attackers, provided you drop one on them.

Mythbusters used them as a range in their parking lot, and
    an explosives containment structure.

I prefer the term "bullet resistant." A big and fast enough bullet will go through anything. Yay physics!
There is never going to be an even playing field, so try harder.
