    If I can do it...

I signed up as a business to the CCFR today. I paid the $100.00 fee. I then donated $1000.00. There is plenty more where that came from.

I could not sign up using the name of my company; and, as much as I would love to have my business website linked to the CCFR, I can't. My business is federally and provincially funded.... Kiss of death to be associated with any politically incorrect enterprise. I have staff and they have families. Enough said.

I have donated heavily to the CPC over the years. One time, I was very upset about one thing or another that the CPC did or did not do. I wrote a wordy (I prefer "pithy") letter stating in no uncertain terms that the tap was shut off and that, henceforth, my largess would in future be targeted to the organizations that were truly fighting for property rights - the underpinning of true democratic freedom, IMHO - ie:, firearms orgs.

True to my word, that day I sent a substantial amount of cash to 2 firearms orgs. One org actually called my up and requested confirmation that, yes, I really stood by my expenditure. What really got me was the fact that the dollar amount ,to me, was not extravagant. Said To me that gun owners are a cheap bunch of ...!

Listen, I would love to join the cause at an activist level. I have money, I have a very expensive education (psychology, no less) and I am photogenic! What's not to like? But, as previously alluded to, to be on the radar would be financial suicide. So, all I can do is provide money. And I WILL DO SO!

All you wannabes out there... put up or shut up! If you can afford to buy even one box of ammo per month, then can you not see fit to donate said amount to the CCFR? What is your freedom worth to you? I would give anything to be able to get above the radar and CONTRIBUTE to the FIGHT!!! I simply can not!!!!!!!

But I have a wallet and I know how to use it! For the love of whatever you may hold dear, do what is in your power to do: get up off your knees and CONTRIBUTE!

True words. Some can contribute money. Some can contribute time and energy. Some can do a little of both.

Whatever you can do - do.

And i'd rethink the CPC thing ... they may not be perfect and no gov't will, but as we're about to find out they're still a HELL of a lot better than the alternatives

I did not state previously that, after my missive, I decided to still contribute to the CPC. I maxed out my allowable each and every year.

Foxer, I can not overemphasize just how much the very idea of the CCFR means to me! I felt true despair when the man whose name shall not be mentioned won the election. I actually went and bought 20 acres of land in the good ole US of A just in case me and Mrs. N2F need a bolt hole to escape the nascent socialist revolution in Canuckistan.

It is great to see real adults take to the stage and commit to the good fight! Perhaps all is not lost after all.

All is never lost Remember - trudeau didn't really win by any major landslide. And - that's about as united as the left gets - and they still only took a majority by 14 seats and unfortunately a lot of gun owners and other traditional cpc support were convniced to stay home this time to 'punish' the cpc. Unfortunately, as they're about to learn, we're the ones who're going to get punished. I suspect they'll be back behind the CPC next time.

Look at the polls - they stayed rock solid steady between the libs and the dips. Basically - there was one left wing vote and they were just waiting to see which party was going to 'break out' and pull ahead - and as soon as one did after the french debate the entire left dogpiled on the potential winner, so it was very much like the liberals got the benefit of BOTH campaigns this time out. They won't get that next time.

We're going to have some battles - there's some crap they're going to try to pull especially with voting rules that we're going to have to fight back against tooth and nail. And we're not going to win them all in the short term. But - we CAN put a cpc gov't back in and fix what the libs do. It's just going to take all of us working together,

My head still wants to see the bylaws and such. But my heart says this org COULD have a HUGE role to play to bring gun owners together to fight specific issues and to bring the public on side. It's going to take time for it to find it's wings, i think we all know that, but i think it's got potential.

So yeah - keep your head up and keep your hope up. This ain't over.

I have never understood the mind of any voter who would "punish" their party of choice by voting for the opposite politicos! True measure of insanity!

Speaking of insanity... Once again, I appreciate your level head and rational outlook. I fear my exposure to far too much "book learnin'" has filled my head with oatmeal! (tip of the hat to Vlad!)

As much as I ridicule Leafs fans I give them credit for supporting their team of choice no matter how dismal they perform. It is not that way with many in the political game. Jumping ship is commonplace as few want to be known for voting for 'losers'. I have always voted conservative as I know where the other options will lead us. Fixed income has me tied down put I joined the CCFR and still donate to the CPC. A small price to pay to know that you are trying to make a difference. To those who expect to ride the coat tails of those who are doing something, back off. You are holding us down and deserve what you put into it. Time, effort and cash are what has always been needed. Get involved now!

    Which is better:
    a) joining and donating, or
    b) joining 26 times with different 'names', only one with insurance, and no donation.

Both ways get the cash on board but 26 memberships inflates the numbers and makes the organization look more successful. If you go the 26 route stick Justines name on one and continue with his senior cabinet members. Ms. Cukier needs one as well.

A random name generator, like this link, would be better.
