Anonymous declares war on Islamic State after Paris attacks

The hacker collective Anonymous declared war against the Islamic State group Saturday after a series of brutal attacks in Paris on Friday night killed 129 people and injured hundreds more.

In a video posted to YouTube on Nov. 14 a man wearing a Guy Fawkes mask said the group would hunt down the Islamic State militants who claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks.

“Expect massive cyberattacks. War is declared. Get prepared,” says the masked man in French.

“Anonymous from all over the world will hunt you down. You should know that we will find you and we will not let you go. We will launch the biggest operation ever against you.”

“We don’t forgive and we don’t forget.”

Anonymous is an international network of activist computer hackers which has claimed responsibility for many cyberattacks, including others on ISIS and the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Following the January attacks against the offices of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris they attacked websites related to Islamic State and took down thousands of ISIS twitter accounts.

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks in Paris where police say attackers worked in three synchronized teams, wearing matching suicide vests and carrying the same weapons laid siege on a stadium, a concert hall and Paris cafes leaving 129 people dead and over 350 wounded, 99 of them seriously.

Weren't they already trying to shut down all the recruiting sites and pages? I think it'd be very hard to stop an enemy that simply put down their cell phones and stayed off Facebook (etc...) via Anonymous.... The Paris crew managed to stay pretty subtle and below the radar....
I saw a tidbit that someone thought they may have been using PS4 games to communicate, not sure how much truth is in that....

A place to see... A place to go.... Ontary-ary-ary-ohhhh
    Twice in one year!??

They lost interest pretty quick after Charlie Hebdo. It must have taken too much away from their Playstation time.

Can't wait for the surrender of ISIL cuz anonymous makes all their websites go "Error 404. Website not found" temporarily.

    Or not.

The very definition of Keyboard Warriors.

What? You going to Dox everyone who is a member of

    Think they care?

Anonymous are a bunch of entitled lefty anarchists who deal in first world problems, and the first world problem solution of shaming their (capitalist / big government) enemies.

I'm generally not a big fan on Anonymous... But if the CAN flush out people, places or events with their tools, then they absolutely should. ISIS has been playing the social media game better than.. well, anybody, really, and if anonymous can turn that into some kind of information or Achilles heel, then power to them.
I don't have a firearms problem; they all work perfectly well.

Gov’t couldn’t make sense if you gave them a recipe.

    Oh good, NOW we're winning.

Anonymous basically is junior grade terrorists. But hey, what the heck. If it keeps them off the virtual streets then great, have at 'em.

And where's PETA when you need them? I hear ISIS does some nasty things to/with goats.

I give Anonymous very little credit. It's been known ISIS has been killing innocent people in some pretty grotesque ways for years.
Oh but NOW they want to "declare war".
    F@#K OFF!!.
There are plenty of worthwhile causes in the world that Anonymous might have gotten involved in and made some real positive impact, but instead they wait until there's an international headline they can leech onto.
I'm sure that they have legit skills about some results.
