you could easily make a point of reference at the rear of the action rather than pooching the barrel

So to summarize Foxer's post, I'll try this.

    Thanks.

I don't have to read YOUR posts, I KNOW they're going to make sense. It takes a lot more concentration to figure out what the hell Harbl's trying to say . (and sometimes a white board )

They're actually coded messages to my agents and minions. Nobody else has the energy to read them so you probably didn't notice all the sentences that just say things like "the wombat flies at midnite. Sally is in the LOWER basement. Beware the midget with the corkscrew, he has much to answer for". My last reply to harbl gave instructions that led to the rescue of 4 texan businessmen from a questionable bathhouse just outside Istanbul. For Gods' sake man, there are LIVES at stake here!

    oh yeah...410 shotgun...
What?!? oh oh oh oh.... right.. How'd that turn out?

You guys have pretty much covered it, pretty hard to justify gunsmithing on a cheap single shot. Typical fixes such as re-choking to correct POI or installing an adjustable comb are out. Maybe you could find someone to install a second smaller bead, similar to the typical mid rib bead on a target shotgun. This would give you a solid reference if you are actually aiming this gun not wing shooting.

From what I have read online barrel bending was a common practice on trap guns 30 or 40 years ago. Guys were wanting higher POI and some of the gunsmiths that travelled to the big shoots would do this. Not very scientific, apparently the procedure involved a large tree with a "V"and a calibrated eyeball.
In spite of all of man's grandiose achievements, he owes his continued existence to six inches of topsoil and the fact that it rains.

.410's are not kid's guns. Only result in frustration for a kid.
Put a straight edge on the barrel to see if it's bent, first.
Epp's smithy charges $75 plus the cost of the bead to install one. Starting price to straighten a barrel is also $75.
Plan 'B' would be to cut the barrel to 20", install a rifle sight and use it for slugs. That's more about not caring what it costs though.
