Another 110ish feet of fence is done, along with my hips and knees.

Are the boards no-gap, expecting some shrinkage?

Yep. We clapped them tight together right across the entire run. The boards Home Deathspot sells are wetter than stuff you'd drag up off the bottom of a lake. The back run has only been up a few days and most of the boards have already shrunk enough that theyre not touching and there's 1/8th to 1/4" gaps between almost all of them. Here's a pic of a random section. Those were tight together a few days ago. If any of you guys are planning on building a fence this summer, go anywhere EXCEPT Home Depot for your stuff even if it costs a little more. I ran a 75% material rejection rate on this project. The ONLY things that were ok were the 4x4 posts. Everything else was a garbage sorting expedition.

While not as visually impressive as BSD’s fence, i got 300 feet of fencing done around the new septic, and another 100’ stretch behind the chicken pen done as well. Just 2 strand for now, eventually ill put cattle mesh up on everything as well, but it’s enough it will keep the horses out of the chickens and septic. Bonus, I didn’t have to go to 75 home improvement stores and sort 40,000 board feet to do mine. 1 stop at Peavey Mart for a roll of barb wire and a bundle of postsIMG_7297.jpgIMG_7299.jpg

Looks like you’ll need some bracing at your end post or you’ll never be able to keep the wires tight
In spite of all of man's grandiose achievements, he owes his continued existence to six inches of topsoil and the fact that it rains.

Ripped out the linoleum and vinyl plank overlaid floor on my bathroom yesterday. Layed the Decoupling membrane down last night and in about an hour I'm starting tiling.

Since everyone is posting fence pictures. Trying to finish up the pasture fence. This is a steep section that the wild rose has taken ahold of. Yes there are ticks, mosquitoes, blackflies etc. The auto rotate is screwing it up

Here is another view of the pasture

Looking at covering the gap between two seacans about 12.5’ apart, 40’ long. It can’t be anything too substantial, or county permit guy becomes a busybody.

What’s light, waterproofh(ish), and might pass the muster of acceptable viewing?

I’m thinking onion skin but not sure what the real name is.

Maybe Tyvec, don’t think it’ll do. Supports will be scaffolding X braces split apart and bolted lengthwise. Likely attached on the ends to wood planks on the cans to form a rectangle. Probably tires on the boards for extra weight.

Any material or design suggestions? Budget is kinda important in case the plan so far hasn’t made that clear..
