I had carpel tunnel surgery on both my wrists 25 years ago. It was 100% successful. I had the right done first as it was the worst.
Being right handed meant learning to do a lot of tasks with my left hand only. Wiping your butt with your left hand can be a challenge at first.
Wait til you try washing your left hand without the use of the right hand.
