The new owner will appreciate that very much. (not so subtle hint)

Ammo, camo and things that go "blammo".

I un-built the tree beside my deck. For some reason its a breeding ground for aphids. It was way too high to spray the whole thing, so.....

I have a bus in the shop with Wabco Full Pressure Hydraulic brakes. It was towed to the shop
after someone butchered the wiring harness and swapped the brake ECU from another vehicle.
I replaced the fuses and smoke started coming out of the ECU. I ordered a complete
Hydraulic Compact Control Unit for it.

Meritor says not to manually bleed the system that it must be pressure bled.
I need an adaptor to pressurise the brake reservoir. That item seems to be unobtainable.
Even the Snap-On dealer could not supply us with one.
There are a lot of these brake systems on the road what are mechanics using to bleed them?
Its just a cap that goes on the filler neck on the reservoir on the master cylinder.

I bought a 18" length of 2" round aluminium and spent a couple hours last night machining the lock ring.
It was a real pain machining the bayonet lugs. A 1/8" end mill running at 900 rpm. I cut a snap ring groove
in it and I made it in two pieces.

The finished lock ring waiting for some final deburring.

A little touch up with a file and the ring fit perfectly. Made the rest up and pressed it together.
The manual says to put 35 PSI in the plastic reservoir and if you have difficulty bleeding the brakes raise
the pressure to 45 PSI. A 20 year old plastic brake reservoir. I can see where that could be very messy.
I think I will do that with the hood closed.

But if you list it with Snap On, you can retire after 4 sales!

I've lost track of the number of times somebody told me that something didn't exist. I always finished their sentence with "yet". Good job bud. My neighbor (head guy in Alberta for a generator company) comes to me once in a while with "We've got this thing apart. We need this tool. It's backordered for ?????? long from Caterpillar/Cummings/whatever. How much ? I usually hand it to him when he's leaving for work the next morning if I have the material. Sometimes you've just got to say f--k everybody and their excuses and just get the damned job done.

Today was clean up loose ends day. I put a latch on the gate in the new fence. Planted 2 more raspberry bushes. Planted about 30 more garlic cloves. Redid my eve trough to rain barrel setup. I wanted to make sure I was catching all the rain I can given how dry its been this year. I had the old screen thingy from the vent in my old microwave and some fence post cutoffs. That turned into a holder/filter for a down spout extension.
