I figured it was well overdue to get last year's mule buck off of my desk, and onto the wall.

I don't mind seeing the mounting bolts, but I can't for the life of me get them straight.
Why does the rest of the country get first dibbs on half my income?

Nothing beats having a tractor with a front end loader to help butcher!
In spite of all of man's grandiose achievements, he owes his continued existence to six inches of topsoil and the fact that it rains.

So, instead of making the "worst soup ever" the day before measuring day, I dropped my muledeer's head off at a young local guy's place.
    He'll do a European mount.
I've seen his work, and it's very nice. Far nicer than I can do.

Here's what I use to mount my skulls.
    counter spacer.jpg
I bought a handful from Home Depot, they're spacers that go between the tops of your base cabinets and your countertop.
I epoxy 2 of them into the back of the skull with the flat surface lined up to be even with your wood plaque. Countersink the holes in your plaque and it will sit flush against your wall.

Ammo, camo and things that go "blammo".

Got my mule deer back today.

I paid someone else to do the European mount.
I keep thinking that I could have done it just as well myself and saved the money.

I think I'm going to do my whitetail myself. That is sure to cure my pickiness, and bring me back to reality.
Or maybe just a skull plate mount.
I still have to figure out how to hang this one.
He put a wire on the back, but that hangs it with the antlers sticking too far forward for my liking. But, once I start screwing around with it, I might decide that the simple way is to my liking after all.
