If it's true, then I'm pissed. The RCMP tech there was no way'n hell to register the Tommy (12.5).
I'm guessing, however, that if you were to replace the barrel on a 12.6 for example, you could then turn around and register it as a restricted.

These were 12.6 Lugers though, maybe the rules are different for something like a 12.5?

Not with a never registered pistol at least. I just went through this. A friend found a savage 1917 that was never before registered. The only options were deactivate or turn in for destruction. I had to deactivate it for her. It made me sad

It was in MINT shape too, still in box. I would go as far to say it had never been fired. Too bad she called the CFC before me...

Next Goal should be Bring back Hunting as a legal cause for owning a restricted.
    - bring back the handgun as a legal tool for hunting.
give the right to carry back to canadians, who qualifies.

Interesting. I am Currently going thru this process on an old Webley Mark VI I re-activated The previous owner had deactivated it, cutting the firing pin, plugged the barrel & cylinders. So I bought the parts i needed (ebay) & then called it in.
