I had some fun at the range and thought I'd share... and show off a little...

I shot 5 rounds groups 4 times. The first 5 rounds got the barrel "clean", and the next 5 got it up to temperature.

Then I pulled off this group:

    0.425 - 0.243 = 0.182

The next group was worse, so I'm thinking the rifle got too hot. I wasn't really taking my time.

I still get the occasional flyer, not always a called flyer. I've started taking the case out of rotation if I get a non-called flyer. When I have a bunch of good cases I'll test again and see if I can get the rifle 100% reliable... assuming I do my part.

Oh, the gun is a Prairie Gun Works action with a custom barrel chambered in 6mm BR. I shot the groups off a bipod, and a bag at the rear.

Nice grouping! So far the best I did was a 0.8" group with a Savage 111 in .270 Win with factory ammo and resting the front on a sandbag

Hoping to get my Savage 10 FCP-SR into single hole groups

Hate to go bursting any bubbles, but I think a caliper reset is in order.
Two .243 holes side by each is .486 and there's more room than that.
But still, that's some pretty good shooting, and it sure looks like the load works.

Good observation! But still a decent group.

Alright... I measured again. The "grease" left by the bullets did not measure .243, it measured around .220. I allowed for the diameter of the actual bullet and the new measurement came out at .484. Minus the .243, comes out to .241. Still not bad... but not good enough.

You've only challenged me to do better. Challenge accepted

    Stay tuned.

Oh, and cutting a penny in half, length ways, with a .223 Savage, at 100 yards is UNPOSSIBLE!

Even if you could... it would take forever to find it.

    Oh wait...
