    Drone shot down in BC

    http://www.mycariboonow.com/13829/ch...south-cariboo/

Charges are pending in connection with an incident where a remote control drone was shot down at a residence in the Bridge Lake area.

100 Mile House RCMP Corporal Brian Lamb says they were called to a residence on the 7000 block of Grossett Road back on August 5th.

He says the residents who shot the drone down say it was equipped with a camera and that it was being used to look into windows.

Lamb says the drone’s owner was obviously not happy.

“The drone’s owner, having potentially viewed what occurred, then proceeded to the property in his vehicle crashing through a locked gate and allegedly almost hit the property owner and another resident with his vehicle.”

Lamb says one of the residents suffered a minor injury while trying to get out of the way.

He says a firearm was subsequently discharged at the vehicle.

As it left the property, Lamb says the vehicle then struck a BC Hydro power pole knocking out power in the area.

Police located the driver, a 32-year old male from Vancouver, and arrested him without incident.

He is now facing charges of Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle, Uttering Threats, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Careless Use of a Firearm.

Lamb says a female related to the accused, a resident of Burnaby, was subsequently arrested for Uttering Threats as well.

Both will appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, the investigation into all of this continues.

Wait, the driver/drone owner also had a prohibited firearm?
the wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept

Sounds like perhaps the second shot wasn't from the homeowner?

Good riddance to the drone. The "pilot" sounds like a

Is there a nice link to drone laws in Canada, including with respect to residences.
