Man, nothing is cheap anymore, remember when the stevens rifles were like $250? Now an axis is $600

Pair it with a simple(vx1 or similar) leupold 2-7x or 3-9x, I have a buttstock pouch that'd hold a couple spare magazines, and I think it'd be a handy coyote rifle. Needs a wood stock though.

Yeah... a wood stock is everything in a 527.

I'd be giddy too if I had that much room for reloading...

Tell us more about your set up there. The scale/powder measure to the left of the RCBS chargemaster caught my eye. I would very much like a set up like that. I've been considering a better scale that reads 0.00

Yeah, it's called an AutoTrickler by CE Products. It comes with an A&D lab grade scale. When you get it set-up, it is amazing. Resolution to the hundredth of a grain (instead of the Chargemaster's (sort of) tenth of a grain). I just got it on Wednesday.

I spent the first evening setting it up and testing the 6 different powders I use. So last night I loaded a hundred .357mag cases. I know my lever gun will never notice the difference, but I am looking forward to charging for the six precision rifles in the safe.

Next step....start shooting so I can roll up some more.

I have been lusting after a scale that reads to the hundreds, just not happy with the consistency of the chargemaster. Dare I ask how much it hurt?

    Just north of $1300.

And I've just added 2 upgrades. A new powder cup and a new trickler stand. Both by Area419. ($200 more)

    Yes....my wallet is hurt'n.

I actually compared a few charges of H110 in the new scale and my old Chargemaster. My Chargemaster isn't that bad. Now, I only compared 2 throws. Both showed the Chargemaster being out less than a tenth of a grain (+/-). Not scientific, I know. But still interesting.

If I feel bored, I could do a comprehensive study of just how accurate the Chargemaster is for different types of powders....? (I use 6 different types of powders.)

FWIW, there are ways to get the Chargemaster pretty decent accuracy. But it involves trickling up....slowly. Painstakingly slowly. But it does work. Which is one of the reasons I upgraded. Speed and the better resolution in accurate throws.
