Thanks. The test blade is a new design for me and I thought I would try it in S35VN.

Well it's got a good look to it, and i don't just mean it looks good. It looks like a very serious worker too. Nice lines, looks comfortable and i like the slight angle on the grip vs the blade. It looks like it just wants to get out there and make one thing into two things.

I'm trying removable scales on the next two so I made a jig for my mill (bought the mill to try making folders). It's not going to be easy, but it will look better than drilled holes. I have no background in any of this so it's learn as you go.

I finally got around to doing a cutting test video with the test blade. 222 cuts through 1/4" sisal rope and it is basically just like it was when I started the test. I'm impressed with the steel.

I've been quite pleased with s35, i thought it was just going to be a bit of a marketing hype version of s30, but it really is a noticeable step up in my experience.

First knife in over 3 months. Work interferes with my life. S35VN blade Lanny's Clip. Might stone wash it yet, need to put on my mark and an edge. 4.25" handle, 7&3/8" OAL.

Took a pic with a Spyderco PM2 for size comparison.

edit to add....stonewashed the blade and put my mark on it.

Apparently I haven't been up to too much, but I hope that changes. I picked up an accessory for my grinder that has me pretty happy so far.

It makes short work of getting the blanks flat and knocking the scale off after heat treat.

    500 grit satin finish.

Made my first set of removable handle scales which I'm liking so far. The canvas micarta is nice and grippy.

I finished the sheath on this one and will take the knife to the prospective customer to see if she wants me to stonewash it. It's a gift to her boyfriend.

S35VN at 61Rc (as per Crucible's heat treat data) with a 750 grit belt finish. This was prior to counter boring the handle scales.

edit to add a pic because the last one looks like the tip is burnt.
