I made a handle and ground this one yesterday. It was a long day.

I got a couple of sets of handle scales going, finished the sheath and put an edge on the knife above. Back to work tomorrow.

I started working on 4 large drop point hunters in S35VN and ground the blade for liner lock #2 today. 1200 grit belt finish. I might have a fixed blade knife or two to put on the EE in a month or so.

    Handle for the liner lock.

I was doing some test fitting today. I set the detent ball and did the lock bar.

The thumb stud is just set in place in this pic because I wanted to see how it looked.

I had it a little strong in this video and backed it off a bit.

Looks great, does the folder take much longer to make than a fixed blade?

Thank you. The folders do take longer, as there is more involved. I haven't really taken note of just how long the complete process is though. On this knife it took me 3 hours to grind the blade. I don't know how long a real knife maker could do it in. It took me 1 hour 40 minutes to put the edge on by hand. Most guys probably do it on a machine so it would be quicker. With etching, some finishing, setting the thumb stud, surface grinding after heat treat etc., I'm sure I have put a good 6 hours into the blade after it had been heat treated. I don't figure out how many hours are into a knife so it has to be worth 'X' number of dollars, I try to put a fair price on them according to what they are worth.

I heat treated the 4 knives above yesterday and ground one I had previously heat treated today.

If they all survive the rest of the journey, I may have 1 or 2 available if anyone is interested in a large drop point with canvas micarta scales.

This is the one I ground today. S35VN with a 1200 grit belt finish. It's a little smaller than the ones above.

Got the handle done on the hunter a couple posts up. Plain looking, but very comfortable. The canvas micata is nice as is gets a little more tactile when it gets wet.
