    Disconcerting, to say the least.
Heck, had one screaming at me in the bush from about 50 yards away a couple weeks ago, and was a bit un-nerved.
It was alone, thankfully, but that's the only time I've heard just one.
They were sure lively dawn and dusk past two days. Had a couple within 100 yards yipping it up. Ours are used to being shot at though . They generally skedaddle when they realize that funny looking bush is a human with a boom stick....

Complacency is what damn near killed him. Be it by exposure/wet, or animals.

And then falling into common mental mistakes that occur when the initial panic hit. He sorta self rescued, but another week later, he would have been dead.

    hunt with smokers

if you get lost in the bush you will always have a light to make a fire.

the group may end up cranky, but you will be warm

once the butts are gone, someone will find a convenience store before too long

Funny. I know if I don't get my fix, I'll rip off the head of any critter wanting a piece of me.

I never saw one in Ontario. I've seen plenty here in Alberta but they were always alone. They are dogs however, so it would only make sense that they did hunt together at some time or another.

I know how to cook with a smoker.
How does one hunt with a smoker? Do you pick up the smoker and throw it at the animal?

oddly enough I can answer that for the kind that use pellets...

Have it in the back of an old Dodge Caravan on your way home from Wpg.

    Hit deer with van.

I told my buddy he should sell his rifles and buy more vans as he'd taken more deer with the vans over the years.

He didn't think it was funny...

I was babysitting a fire for the fd and was left alone when I heard one howl from what I thought was 100yrds away, looked around with the flash light and he must of been easily within 50yrds. Just looked at me. Then wandered off when I tried to get within shovel hitting range.
    Lucky coyote.
the wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept

Coyotes will hunt in packs. Coyotes will follow humans hoping for an easy meal of left overs/gutpile. Have had coyotes run over my legs, stare down at me from the bale I was hiding behind and many other close calls. Only ones that ever attacked were in a trap and that was reason enough to attack. If you are scared of a coyote stay on cement.
