General Manager - Canadian Distribution Operations
Browning Canada Sports Ltd (Ltée), a subsidiary of Browning North America (BNA), is the distributor of a leading manufacturer of sporting firearms, hunting accessories, apparel and other related sporting goods. BCS is located in Ville St- Laurent, a suburb of Montreal, just a few minutes from Montreal international airport and 20 minutes from downtown.

Job description:
Reporting to the CEO of Browning North America, (Utah, USA), the General Manager oversees all aspects of supply chain ( import, warehousing and distribution), marketing and sales, advertising, after sale service, and customer service of Browning products sold in Canada.
Managing a team of 8 people in the Montreal office and 4 sales agencies, the GM works closely with the US head office to reach or surpass sales and profit annual budgets set by corporate and maximize Browning’s market share in all of Canada.

Requirements:

  • Location: Montreal (St- Laurent), QC. Canada
  • Language skills: fluently bilingual (French, English) written and spoken.
  • Education and or experience: Bachelor in Business (ideally sales and Marketing) and minimum 5 years’ experience in subsidiary management or sales management, experience in supply chain management and logistics a plus.
  • Computer literacy: computer skills ( Microsoft office)
  • Travel: Since the territory is all of Canada, traveling is involved (approximately 25%
  • mostly in Canada with a small amount of travel to the US Office)
  • Special skills: holder of a firearms acquisition and possession certificate and knowledge of outdoors, (camping, hunting, shooting, fishing) are definite assets.

To perform this job successfully an individual must:


  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to solve customers’ problems.
  • Manage/motivate a team of office workers.
  • Be able to organize and hold sales meetings and one on one coaching with sales representatives.
  • Be able to call on large key accounts and should be able to properly display and sell product.
  • Be willing to participate in consumers and trade shows .
  • Must have good reporting skills ; will report to head office on a monthly basic.
  • The ability to prepare yearly forecast, budgets , 3 years planning, and Canadian market analysis.
  • Should be able to study and analyse the Canadian market place.
  • Must have a good understanding of financials reports .
  • Must be prepared to travel with sales representative and visit dealers.
