Question for the Garand Gurus here

I am seriously considering taking the leap and joining the M1 owners' club, and I am preferably looking for one with an IHC receiver. How much can I expect to pay for one?

    Thanks

We all want a tractor gun. As home builds on Italian/Danish receivers can cost $1300 on the low side and Springfield's going for $1600, IHC, Winchester and H&R's would be in the $1800+ range (if in decent shape). For entertainment purposes, check out Cabelas . I was in the Barrie location and they had a rough Springfield listed at $2700. That got you a cracked front handguard, worn parkerizing, unkown barrel specs and a scruffy stock. BTW, I am by no means a guru, just a poor savage infected with Garanditis.

It's getting scary. I cringed when I bought my 1945 Springfield for $1200, now I get casually offered $2k for it.

Cabela's prices are excessive for poor condition stuff Stateside too.
You may want to re-think an IH. They only made 337,623 M1 rifles according to Scott Duff. Severely limits the number that might be in Canada. However, Collector's Source is/was listing a DEWAT at $1,495.00Cdn.
"...bought my 1945 Springfield for $1200..." Mine's a '44 and I paid $175 for it. About 40 years ago. Sad thing when your toys are your retirement fund.

Even worse when our government devalues many of our toys with onerous legislation and confiscation by attrition.
