Of all things we have never grown bok-choy.....strange now that I think of it, I love that stuff. Are you guys as dry up there as we are? Watering each garden every third night here for the last few weeks.

We grew it one year and couldn't figure out how the rabbits were getting to it as the young shoots were getting eaten. It turned out our German Shepherd female Queegan loved them!

Ya the ground is cracking. I fire up the small fire pump every night and water the lawn and garden. Garden has enough organic matter in it to hold some water. The lawn is still brown. Lake is 3 inches from being at its lowest point in 7 years. Store bought lettuce salad tonight for supper, due to our lettuce not sprouting. 3 weeks now going from the 42C down to steady 30+C temps is not fire prevention. Fishing is pretty good though, under an umbrella. A 16 and a 18" rainbow fresh out of a very deep lake was delicious on Monday.

Garden potatoes with onion in butter and paprika. Only a few hours out of the dirt. 'Tis the season.

I think I am starting to cook like my Grandfather more every year.

Trying to cut down on the red meat, so the traditional Saturday night surf & turf became all surf this weekend. Threw this together, all fresh - never frozen, the pic doesn’t do the colossal scallops justice. Ribeye’s next Saturday that’s the deal…..

Grouse fingers appetizer. Oh they were good

1tsp of garlic, 1 tsp of onion powder, 1tsp of pepper, 1tsp of salt, 1/2 cup of flour and 1/4 tsp of cayenne powder.
The main was a bowl of Mennonite sausage spiced bear meat ball and vegetable soup. Cayenne in it too.
