    Deer shanks in the slow cooker. A too often discarded cut that I remove when I skin so they don't dry out. Cut them every couple inches, sear on all sides then slow cook in a spiced broth for the afternoon and they melt in your mouth.

    Not quite dinner, but I cleaned up the remnants of this morning’s pumpkin carving. Oven at 250, lightly oiled cookie sheet, a little Cajun seasoning and salt and I’ve got a delicious snack.

    The leftovers turned out OK too.

    I do love me some roasted seeds, but was hoping to save some for planting next year.
