Looking for some cheek riser manufacturer names..

    Hey guys/gals...

As the title says, I'm looking for a few manufacturers that make leather cheek risers.

I've got a Savage 116 Classic that's been paired with a Bushnell 6500 that has a lens size of 50mm, and with this set up the rings that I've got place the scope pretty high.

So given this I'm trying to find a nice leather cheek riser that I can use to bring my head up comfortably. I know of voodoo tactical and blackhawk!, but ....ehh

Do you guys know of a manufacturer or a leather guy that does this kind of thing? Everything that I've found so far is nothing but tactical stuff...

    Thanks!

BrotherRockeye makes them but he isn't taking orders right now

JonMTL(aka Leathercrafter) does nice work, he might be able to fix you up.

    Send him a PM: http://www.gunownersofcanada.ca/member.php?13982-JonMtl

    I'll let him know.

Tourbon makes a few options. They are far from custom, but they are also cheap enough to see if you like using a cheek riser.

I made my own with a small amount of money, time, and effort. I'd never worked with leather before and it turned out, so it's an option worth considering.

Still holding up very nicely. And you have the benefit of choosing exactly how you want it. I searched around for a while before I decided to do this though. Couldn't find any that were right for me.

I missed that thread when you posted.

I could have given you some dandy pointers to make it all really easy...

I've built every type you can imagine. The first was built on my Mom's sewing machine and held 2 mags for my old Squires Bingham .22 bought from SIR mail order...

Haha and I probably could have used some of those pointers! But it turned out well enough for an experiment anyways. I did have to tighten up the paracord after a couple months but now it's holding tight and hasn't loosened again. Or I suppose stretched would be a better word.
