Ok here are four that were returned this morning. These were just finished being cut. They will be in the dumpster by the end of the day.

If those are walnut offer the wood to someone who does wood working. They could be used on a wood lathe

Ok this is one of the BETTER examples of the fit from a Lever action Boyds stock.

This customer was given the choice of a full refund for the stock or we will cover half the costs to fit the stock to the gun. To make this stock work we would have to lengthen the inletting for the tang so it would fit flush with the receiver, fill in the tang bolt hole and then redrill it. Estimated time 1 hour 30 to 2 hours for this stock.

Other stocks had the grip part of the rear stock so thick it would have to be sanded down and the entire rear stock would have to be refinished. This was compounded on the fitting issues.

Those are a mess. They shouldn't let stuff like that out of their shop

Too bad the wood was turfed, could have been used by knife makers, etc.

I've had a few stock swaps over the years... iirc this is a pre 64 versus post 64 issue. Rossi uses one tang shape and chiappa uses another. I'd be if you find the right gun that stock will fit a little better.

It's still minor fitting. You guys should find a new gun smith or any half competent carpenter.

We have tried swapping the stocks on various lever actions. Boyds admits there is a mistake with their lever action stocks.

Will your "guy" replicate Garand stock sets? I have a hankering to build up a deluxe, presentation grade, one in a thousand rifle with a stock that is drop dead gorgeous.
