I'll have to look for that key.

Uncle went up to the lake last weekend and suggested I hire someone to cut the grass, the ticks were so bad.

I remember field school in the whiteshell, some 18 years ago. You'd see them crawling over the rocks in the bush like ants. Days after getting home I was still finding them.

They seem fickle about biting me, though. I usually feel one crawling on me hours or the morning after I'd have picked it up. I've only been bit maybe 3 times.

Was out playing in the bush at 'the range' today.
I've pulled off 12 so far.
At least I got to go shooting, but now I'm just crawling...

when I purchased my backyard in Sask (40 acre homestead) place was full of ticks,, three trailers later, I keep the grass mowed short all around the trailers and shooting tables. This did slow them buggers down, but what really did them in was all the robins that showed up. Now I know birds can be mobile tick motels, but robins only hunt in short grass around my place and there were none hanging around before I started mowing the place down. Last trip out, only one tick, and that was from down range moving some tgts around,,

When spring approaches we put out some small bird bird seed (i.e. not peanuts and sunflower seeds) and when first possible I cut the grass short. We continue with the seeds daily here and there for a month and keep the grass short. Afterwards short and slowly diminish the seeds to zero. The birds will come for the seeds and stay for the critters.
