Marstar Prototype Rifle Model MC-Z SP 308

Was checking out the gun dealers and came across this. Any idea what it is? Description does not say much. Was it a Military Prototype, or something they have pieced together? Cool looking rig. Quite pricey tho unless it's something special.
Looking forward to being enlightened by the resident experts!

Marstar is known for embellishing his creations. His collector grade grenades/Garands come to mind.

Hmm, a Mauser with a flash supressor and a wooden thumbhole stock for $1800.

Might have been their submission for the Ranger rifle or any of a dozen other projects over the years. Cute but a bit pricey.

I really like the looks. For me. Looks like a WW2 or after sniper rig. That being said, I'm no expert. Thank you all for your input. We gotta stay together.
Safe and happy shooting to all.

From the web site link in post # 3.

I didn't know fluting the barrel was for stress relief. I guess you learn something every day.

However, as much as I like .308's this doesn't do much for me.
