    Back alley finds

There just has to be other people here who find stuff they just can't live without abandoned in back lanes or at the dump....

So what the hell did I just find? And right behind my house for some reason? It's like they knew I'd take it in.....

There's a couple little drawers, a small shelf that looks like it once held some jars of dye or other chemical (ring marks from cans/jars), a large drawer across the bottom accessible from both sides, and a thick piece of slate inlayed into what I assume is some sort of work top. Not sure if the legs are original or someone repurposed it into a coffee table....

Does the slate look like it was added later?
Does the slate touch the side under the drawers or is the gap around the slate uniform on all sides?

Slate looks pretty even all round. I'll have to poke my head underneath later when I'm in the garage, but it felt like all wood on the bottom when I was carrying it. It's also a fairly substantial piece of slate....

I spent part of my afternoon today working on a dump find.
It's a direct vented wall heater, probably out of a camper.
Today I put a regulator and hose (also from the dump, from an old BBQ) on it, and fired it up.

It's the perfect heater for my icefishing shack. Last year I decided no more open flame style heaters when icefishing. The lack of oxygen/carbon monoxide was starting to be an issue. (So far only minimal brain damage damage damage)

I wonder if that table is meant to sit on top of another table when in use (hence the short legs)?

I was thinking that, but like I said, not positive that the legs are original to the table....

It almost looks like some sort of writing desk, but the slate top kinda messes that up.

Looks kinda like a re-purposed baby change/dressing table.
