    Gun shows...

So I made it out to the Edmonton and area gun show today in Stony Plain. I had made a promise last year to myself that I would never go to this again. Last year it was the same old crap that we've seen for the past five or so years from the same old vendors. Lots of non gun related junk as well. And...$7 to get in as well as the body odor, garlic, and sh1t smell. Wuff!

So what made me go this year? I don't know. The same crap as a year ago. The hall has been expanded though! But....the same junk I saw 5 years ago. But....better odors this year. Maybe because it's Saturday and the middle-aged overweight set has learned to bathe this year. But..as I made my way down the aisles I was just as disappointed as ever. Then I noticed some powder that I might be persuaded to buy. But...until I saw the price. Wuff! I should have said something to the "vendor". But I remained professional and utterly Canadian...I walked away. Disgusted.

How can someone ask $365 for an 8 pound jug of Retumbo? For heaven's sake...you can buy it at multiple vendors on-line for $260. Ok, add the tax and shipping (if you don't meet the minimum for free shipping) and it would probably cost no more than $280 delivered.

Just one example of the absolutely ridiculous prices that these guys are asking. Let alone the junk and flea market wares.

Oh did I mention, they raised the admission price this year? It's now $8 to get in.

I guess my decision for next year is made. I won't be back. YMMV (I think)

Next year set up a table. Unload all your old junk at a fair price, people will love you for being fresh and bringing some rationality to the show. Might wake up a couple of the other people.

Typical of most shows now. Overpriced everything and the same guns for the last few years.

Salmon Arm in a coupe weeks, I'll to visit with a couple of guys but will buy SFA as the prices as usual will be nuts.

I keep hearing of all these stinky people at gun shows, yet I have a 20/20 sense of smell, and haven't noticed a problem yet. Are y'all just a bunch of wimps, or is it me?

I meant to go but keep forgetting....

There is a lee vendor there. I didn't look at it closely last time.

Now I'm interested in 308 and 223 dies....

I don't remember seeing a Lee guy. There were lots of well used RCBS dies.

Meant to go to Stony Plain? Quite a commute from Scarborough. Right....
