    spotting scope recommendation

This doesn't look like a very active board but I'll try. Can anyone recommend a good spotting scope in the $500.00 range, used at the range, something that will pick up 223 at 100 yards. I bought a $200.00 bushnell, good at 50, you can see holes at 100, but tough to make out, 200 would be a waist of time looking even if 308 cal. And yes I know $500.00 is not a good scope, but the difference of a bushnell and a leupold vx1 on a riffle is like night and day and doesn't break the bank, so there has to be something in that price point better the the bushnell.

I tried looking at every vendor on this site to see what's out there in your price point. Not much unfortunately.
Here's a link which may help you:

    Take a look at this:

Seems like they found a scope in your price range.

Thanks, I see most of the ones on binocular canada are bushnell, and I did read the gun owner one, after I posted, should of read first. We're going on a trip out of town sunday, will see if I can get a look through a few, will post back on what I find. Tough to live in a small townwith a choice of can tire or 2 small sporting places with a scope each.

So I ended up with a luepold SX 1 Vetanna 2 for $499.00 how's that for the 500 range, anyway haven't had it out to range yet, but played with it in store looking out at campbell river harbor, store owner using a range finder, very nice scope. Could of saved a 100 bucks buying it on line, but there's a price to be paid for, it's here now, I'm looking through it, and I have $600.00 cash in pocket. Will report back after a range day.

You should get great results with the Leupold.
