I just received my mk12. And it wouldn’t cycle. Upon inspection it appears I’m missing part #66 and #69 as well. Anyone with news from Odell?

I just emailed them today. Will update if I get a reply. Strange that it seems to be the newly bought ones missing those parts. Unless its a design change or something. I just checked and I also do not have part #66 and #69 which is the sealing ring and the gas block o-ring.

Could the lack of those two parts actually be a subtle change in the design? The reason I ask is below:

The piston from the manual, clearly with an O-ring on it.

Mine ( yea I know its dirty) looks completely different

    piston2.jpg

Also the manual states to remove both barrel screws, mine only has one.

Anyone know more about this than I do?

I am also having an issue with mine, and I'm also missing 66 and 69, and my gas piston looks the same as above

    What issue are you having?

Mine cycles heavier loads great but not light loads. According to most reports that will change with a 20-100 round break in period. I have around 50 through mine so too soon to tell. I am just curious as to the lack of these two parts. Is it an oversight or by design?

I only had target load with me at the time, fired 3, I hand cycled all 3. I bought this gun for deer hunting and pest control, so I'll go buy some heavier loads after cleaning everything and report back

I see what you are saying. If you look at the picture of the gun they use for the disassembly instructions. The front hand guard is slightly different vs the hand guard used in the parts explosion.

If you look in the parts diagram, their is only one barrel screw (#60). Also the piston (#65) looks like what you have shown and what I have also.

    Confusing

I just got an email back from Ben at O'Dell Engineering. It seems we do not need #66 and #69

    sorry I was travelling yesterday.
Yes, that is a gen 2 part. They no longer use the old piston and seal.

    Thanks,
    Ben

So now to figure out why it won’t cycle. I will try some slugs tonight and see if it cycles
