This is happening in B.C. to much.

    Conservation Officer Service
    15 hrs ∑
    Public assistance needed
Sunshine Coast Conservation Officers are currently investigating a shot and left bull Roosevelt Elk that was poached overnight sometime during the early morning hours of Saturday Nov. 25th 2017 off the Halfmoon-Carlson FSR just North of Wormy Lake. The bull was dropped with a single shot and left to rot; no meat was removed from the carcass and the bull was not of age or size to be considered a trophy animal. The lawful elk LEH season was over in this region at the time of the incident, and the elk was shot during hours of darkness using a spot light. The Conservation Officer Service is asking any member of the public with any information related to this senseless and wasteful act to call the Report All Poachers and Polluters hotline at 1-877-952-7277. All information will remain confidential.

It doesn't matter whether the gun they have is illegal or not they don't care about laws in the first place. You could make every gun illegal and you would still have these guys armed to the teeth it's not laws against guns we need laws against criminals !

That's the kind of thing that led to NS "Wildlife Management Area" covering the whole province and bush shooting being outlawed. Couple this with the other shooting issues for trash and carelessly shooting, it's not a stretch for current govt to try same thing...

Same here. You are not allowed to target shoot in the lower portion of B.C. On logging roads. Because of the garbage , And Rifle, Shotgun casings that are supposed to be picked up. You can still hunt the same roads.

Doesn't stop. Be surprised the amount of household crap people dump in the woods. Rather than paying 5$ to goto the dump, they litter their back yards. On the trails behind my house there are tires, mattresses, car parts, tables.

See what he is standing in. Every pit in this area is like this. People even drag washer and driers to shoot at in the clear cuts. The one I seen they dragged a big screen tv through a clear cut. One hundred yards, And shot it all to pieces. 4X4 clubs clean the mess up. And three months latter. It looks the same. Just a bunch of pigs and slobs. That have ruined it for everyone else.

This is mostly what I see, not being done to shoot at, just to dump. The woods by my parents is filled with junk. Some interesting, some not.
The farmers living old machinery is interesting. Find em in places that hasn't been a field in at least 50yrs.
Finding old liquor bottles & mason jars, that like to break and cut my dog's feet - not so interesting.

On topic, wasting a whole elk, unimaginable. I can understand poaching, I don't condone it but understand, but leaving it to rot is inexcusable.
the wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept

Heck the antlers you can make money off them.

Cost me 38$ for a chunk of moose antler for my dog.

This year they are catching a lot of poachers. I came across four dead Mule deer does one year. They were well off of any road. It is LEH draw area. The deer must of not been big enough. We had a CO come to our camp and I reported it to him. He didn't want to go look. Seems like he didn't want to dirty his shoes.
