Some of his other articles are interesting. Including about a 6-9 month time allocation for finishing a stock. Looks of rubbing oil in by hand for two hours a day, and special tonics, etc...

And here’s that link (PDF for reference)...

    https://assets.publishing.service.go...y-handbook.pdf

That seems to be the most current (2005)

And pics (about 20 separate files)

Section 5 includes handguns and full autos as they’re equally deadly

So above is UK storage regulations, here are NZ storage regulations...

    https://www.police.govt.nz/advice/fi...rearms-storage

All firearms licence holders are subject to conditions that require the safe and secure storage of their firearms. There are additional conditions that apply to endorsement holders in relation to pistols, restricted weapons and military style semi-automatic firearms (MSSAs).

The Firearms Secure Storage Guidance document (PDF 732KB) has been created by Police with assistance from the Firearms Community Advisory Forum (FCAF) and is designed to assist firearms licence and endorsement holders and firearms licence applicants understand how the security conditions may be met.

And a link to their PDF (Nov 2018):

    https://www.police.govt.nz/sites/def...e-guidance.pdf

    Expect a couple of revisions...
