    Steel Challenge

    Anyone else shoot steel challenge?

I just started yesterday and I love it. I haven't shot any type of IPSC style speed shooting since 2009. Other than doing some PPC.

This stage the fastest I shot it was 4.68

To a degree. We were finding it hard to hear and taking second shots.

That is with .22s right? I seen some fellows do it on cgn, and it looked pretty fun. If I was a more regular to the privately owned range(vs the dnd range) I'd be heavily inclined to try and get a competition going.
the wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept

We used centerfire. I'm sure you can use rimfire.

Rimfire starts at the low ready and centrefire from a holster I think.

It looks like fun but I'm not aware of any clubs around here that do it, although there is a big competition in NY State not too far away. I'll have to try the border crossing with a handgun thing someday.

I guess it depends on the shooters comfort level. We had one guy drawing from the low ready.

There's something for everybody. Steel Challenge is done with CF and RF firearms. Both rifles and handguns. Holsters are required for CF. The steel and weight of the plates changes with CF, of course. So does how the plates are set. Almost as much fun as pins.

The lamest state in the union for magazine laws, your already-lame ten rounders would need to be pinned to seven. Or would you just purchase equipment over there and rent storage?
