    RCBS 4x4 Not Indexing Completely

Finally got my RCBS 4x4 mounted and set up BUT it is not indexing all the way. You have to give it a little tweak each time to line it up properly with the next station.
Is it most likely the indexing bushing? I have NO IDEA how many rounds the previous owner loaded on it.
If that isn't the case is there a quick fix?

I think there is a mechanical stop that needs to be adjusted every time you change the shell plate, isn't there?
Although, if you can advance it far enough by hand, it must not be interfering.
Unfortunately, it's rather a niche press and I don't think there are big numbers of them around.
Finding an expert might take a bit of patience.

Hmm, that was the 'Case Detents' I was thinking of.
Might they be the culprit, not holding the case tight enough so it doesn't quite align?

Well did someone just stump Rory?
Not the detents as they are just little posts that don't even touch the shell plate. It wouldn't index completely even without them.
I have read the nylon bushing the index rod goes through can wear out. Going to contact RCBS to see if there are replacement bits.

RCBS' warrantee applies to used kit too. Give 'em a call/e-mail.

    Forgot to update this.
Totally the little nylon bushing in the top.
I called RCBS and talked to one of their techs. He said that they just wear out (they are just nylon) and sent me 3 new ones FREE.
Works like a charm now even though it is kind of a PITA to change them.

Gotta love RCBS and their customer service.
How long has the 4x4 been discontinued?
Yet, they still send out free parts.
They sent me out a reservoir for a powder measure they haven't made for 30 years.
    Hard to complain.

"...sent me 3 new ones FREE..." You pay extra when you buy RCBS kit, but you just cannot beat the warrantee and service. And it applies to the kit, not who bought it new.
Sent 'em a letter, long ago before there was an internet, asking where I could get decapping pins in Canada. Got a package of 5 and a list of retailers in about a month.

I actually got the original receipt with this thing when buddy gave it to me and IIRC it was dated '82. The tech did say "We haven't sold those since the 80's" so ya 30 yearsish.
