Not buying re-loaded ammo from Canadian BDX again

I've shot a bunch of reloaded BDX ammo, and other than one round that came to me in a bag that had the lip of the rim ripped off, it's all been really decent stuff, but I cannot support this company any longer.

    (When you can find it in-stock somewhere) they want $85/300 9mm. That's 28.3 cents/each.

You can find new, brand name 9mm right now for $280-$300/1000. That's 28-30 cents each. The same damn price.

The hilarious thing is that I just assumed the price for re-man'd ammo would be less, so I've always bought it without thinking about it. Now that I've done the math, it doesn't make any sense.

There is the whole "supporting Canada" thing... but who cares.

    We need Canadian Ammo companies.

I have to disagree. On Friday, I bought 9mm from BDX for 20.8 cents/round. It's always shot well and the price is the best I've been able to find in Alberta. I fully support Canadian BDX.

I've been very happy with the BDX stuff I've bought.

You're mixing up your logic. You're blaming BDX because some retailer is over marking their stuff. It's got nothing to do with them. Just find a better retailer with more reasonable prices and problem solved. Or, order a case or 3 direct and win.

Not sure where you are, but in my area most retailers who sell commercial reloads have a practice of taking back the brass. Don't bother trying that with CanTire, Bass, or Cabellas. So technically discount the box you just bought by $ 1.50 - $2.00.

I get it from Custom Reloading out of BC for less, but I can't find good factory 9mm for $300/1000? That's $15 a box, isn't it?The last time I bought from the LGS I paid...a lot. It was $62/150... =$413/1000. I find it hard to support the little guy with those prices.

In what caliber did you buy 21 cent ammo? 9mm? BS flag raised.

    That's $208/1000.

Last time I bought BDX it was $85/300 (9mm golden bullet) which is near exactly the same price for the factory new ammo I hyperlinked above.

So am I, my issue is that it's reloaded ammo that they sell for the same price as factory new stuff.

Reloaded is supposed to be cheaper.
